Hi, I’m Nikki LaFuria.

My Message

I am thrilled to bring a range of wellness services to SWLA. With experience as a local business owner and a deep connection to this community as a lifelong resident, I am committed to its well-being. My educational background includes a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a second Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling. I am currently working under Delta Health Services, LLC under Bruce Plauche, LPC and The Louisiana LPC Board of Examiners has approved Dr. Adrian Julian, DMFT, M.A., LPC-S as my board-certified supervisor.. I am eager to support this community in achieving personal and professional wellness goals.

Background

My educational background includes a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a second Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling. I graduated with high honors and obtained a cumulative GPA of 3.9. I have an active Broker’s license through the Louisiana Real Estate Commission.

Experience

My experience started off on the couch of many of my clients offering Real Estate Services many years ago. Learning that my deep calling was with people more than homes I was lead to change career paths. I have a background in mental health serving as the suicide prevention liaison and mental health advocate for Kay Dore Counseling Clinic, under the United Way umbrella. On hand training and experience in inpatient psychiatry, Intensive outpatient treatment, and outpatient counseling have helped me gain the skills needed to be an effective therapist.

Additional Skills

As a lifelong learner, I have obtained skills that help me serve my clients to the best of my ability. I am a QPR-certified suicide prevention trainer, a qualified mediator through the Louisiana Bar Association, a qualified parent coordinator, and I am also EMDR certified to address treatment for trauma, anxiety, and OCD & more. I completed a 200-hour yoga certification instructor program as well.

Topics

The core of who I am is a wife, mother, and a person of faith. Being raised by a strong southern mother and business owner of Nina P’s Cafe, we were taught a strong work ethic, devotion to community, and mostly a love for people. I feel honored to be a part of the journey of others towards better mental health and wellness. I strive to be as unapologetically authentic as possible hoping to create a safe place where others feel accepted as they are. With a deep belief that individuals must first feel seen and safe to heal, it is my goal to be a safe place for people to deal with a complex world.

I accept some private insurance and self-pay through Delta Health Services, LLC.
